All the wax is edible, and is made by our British honeybees from pure nectar. This is one of the best ways to enjoy honey! A chewy gooey intoxicating treat indeed! Straight from our beehives, untouched just as the bees have made it! The nectar is gathered in the floral surrounding area of Surrey UK. 

WEIGHT: Between 170g – 200g approx.

TEXTURE: Varying degrees with possibly natural crystalisation deposits. We do not tamper or alter the natural composition of our honeycomb. We do not heat this either to change what our honeybees have done naturally. This ensures you receive this honeycomb as nature intended.

No special storage requirement. Just keep it covered in a cupboard. Will keep fresh for 1-2 years!

Serving Tips: Scoop the comb out and put on hot toast, muffins, cereal, ice cream , fresh fruit or yoghurt.

Fresh Honeycomb! Supplied as a large whole frame just as it sits within our beehive. You get the entire wooden frame completely untouched as it was when lifted out of our beehive.

Measures aprox. 36 cm long x 14cm wide x 3cm thick. Massive approx 1.2kg

Our Local Honeycomb is collected by our honeybees from our beehives situated near the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with stunning countryside and plenty of bluebells during spring, Surrey is an amazing place for a stroll.

All the wax is edible. No special storage requirements- best before 5 years. Cut a bit at a time from the frame then wrap the frame with food wrap and store in a cupboard. Runny honey within with some natural crystalisation. We do not tamper or alter the natural composition of our honeycomb. We do not heat this either to change what our honeybees have done naturally. This ensures you receive this honeycomb as nature intended. Will keep for 5 years once opened.

Honeycomb contains bee pollen. It looks like dense dark pockets within a hexagon honey cell. Pollen contains vitamins B1, B2 and E, higher amounts than found in fruits, berries and green vegetables. One gram of fresh raw pollen contains from 7 to 15 mg. of vitamin C, along with traces of vitamin E (tocopherol) & 5 to 7 times the amino acids in equal weights of beef, milk, eggs or cheese- but 100% plant based- great for vegans! Pollen is a super natural protein source.

 

Comes food grade compostable shrink wrapped, then bubble wrapped and final touch burgundy tissue wrapped! (See main photo for start to finish wrapping)

Steam Wax Melter (Gas Bottle) The wax melter tank can contain up to 17 brood
frames or 20 supers frames depedning on size. Great for fast melting of wax capping. Perfect for frames cleaning! It enables you to recover the wax without having to cut away the comb from the frame. The frame wire will remain intact allowing still good frames to be re-used.

This 2nd hand unit makes cleaning honey frames easy and fun. Holds approx. 20 frames of any size and steam powered by a Calor gas bottle. Great for taking to remote apiary sites for on site frame cleaning. Keep wax moth at bay. Simply place frames in the tank, add water to the inner lining fill up pipe. Light the burner and close the lid. Steamed frames sterilise the wood while the beeswax comes out the front spout into a wax collection pan.

Honeysump Sump (also called baffle tank) is very well suited to clean large amounts of honey after extraction.

A Professional Honey Sump Tank,( baffle tank) stainless steel, double walled, 150kg capacity

SUMP TANK, entirely made from AISI 304 stainless steel, double-walled , designed to collect honey straight out of the extractor with immediate removal of coarse impurities. The interspace between the two walls contains water, which is warmed by a thermostatically controlled resistance heater: honey is gently warmed and made more fluid thus making cleaning operations easier. The inner bottom is inclined towards the honey gate to ensure complete discharge of the tank. The top part consists of a removable coarse strainer. The tank is equipped with 5 mobile vertical partitions, fitted according to an alternate high-low pattern to create a ‘syphon’ effect: while honey is fed through them it undergoes finer, progressive cleaning according to differences in specific gravity. The tank comes complete with a 50mm suction pipe to suck honey in by pumping. Making extraction of honey quick, easy and labour free.

“I make small batch slipware in my Herefordshire studio at Eastnor Pottery, near Ledbury. Designs, include a unique selection of bathroom and kitchen wares. My approach to potting is relaxed and playful, every piece is treated with an excitement and love of the material, I hope this translates through to the finished pieces.

Cups and bowls are wheel thrown, I slab build individual soap dishes and flower bricks and press-mould plates. Slips and colourful underglazes are brushed and splattered. Sgraffito designs are freely etched into the clay, making the pieces pleasingly tactile. All creating happens at the wet clay stage and I finish every piece with a simple lead-free glaze. Little pieces of art for your home, to use and cherish. I’ve been a selected professional member of the Craft Potters Assocition UK since 1994. My work is regularly exhibited at Contemporary Ceramics, Bloomsbury, London”

Our stunning majolica Minton pottery Stilton cheese bell in the shape of a beehive decorated with blackberry branches and fruit with heavier branches forming the finial.  The original appeared at the world international exhibition in London in 1862.  This centre piece would have been used at a Victorian banquet to present the last course of cheese.  The piece is glazed in rich hues of browns, greens and blues with the interior dome glazed in a robin egg blue:  circa unknown.

*The dome measures 31cm high to top of the finial x 23cm in diameter
*The plate measures 35.5cm in diameter x 5cm high
*This substantial set weighs approx. 6kg

Set is very good condition. NO chips , cracks or repairs- see photos.

Amazing piece! All hand painted in tiny detail. The wing lid comes away to reveal the hidden hollow in the base for trinkets. Very geometric hand painted pattern to the wings. Never seen this in the 40 years of collecting bee items. Time to go to a new home to enjoy!

Vintage Cast Iron Bear & Hive Savings Bank – circa 1940s

This is a heavy solid cast iron Savings Bank. The design is very ornate. In the centre is a bear on its hind legs holding a skep basket beehive within the little bee house, among trees to each side. The cut out word BANK above the skep. The coins are deposited via a slot at the back. There is a square cover that holds the coins.
